Gregory Manning, PsyD
Greg is a licensed clinical psychologist who has extensive experience working with government, the non-profit community and mental health agencies, providing intensive case management services on behalf of youth in foster care and serving as the mental health liaison on a number of local and regional committees and taskforces. He has participated in developing and implementing innovative and community mental health programs. His experience also includes serving as an individual, family and group therapist, group home therapist and manager, clinical supervisor and psychiatric disability insurance case manager.
Greg provides training, speaking and consulting services to professionals of multiple specialties, as well as to lay persons, on a wide range of topics including permanency for youth in and alumni of foster care, coping with grief and loss, secondary trauma, attachment, dealing with oppositional defiant behavior, transitional age youth, and developing and sustaining collaborative teams. He has presented at national, state and local mental health, child welfare and education conferences including the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Summit and the Foster Family Treatment Association.
Greg is also an accomplished author, with a chapter in the recently published book Darla Henry: The 3-5-7 Model: A Practice Approach to Permanency; and he co-wrote Integrating Child Welfare and Mental Health Practices: Actualizing Youth Permanency Using the 3-5-7 Model (American Humane Association: Protecting Children Journal, June 2011). He is available to train or consult on child welfare and child mental health issues, community mental health program development and analysis, and case management topics.
